Young Thug wears a custom suit embroidered with the definition of his rap moniker during the YSL trial.
The young thug wears a suit of special significance in court
On Tuesday (August 6), Young Thug sat down for another day in court as part of YSL's ongoing trial. This time, he came in form, rocking a fitted black and white suit with a special message embroidered in purple on the right side.
Closer examination shows the embroidery reads, “Truly Humble Under God,” which Thug's attorney Brian Steel claimed early in the lawsuit was an acronym for Young Thug's rap moniker.
In November 2023, on the second day of YSL's trial, Steele attempted to prove in his opening statement that Young Thug is not the monster the state claims. During his opening remarks, Steel said Thug is a God-fearing man who does what he can to help the community. Steel also gave positive connotations to Thug-related names. YSL, he said, stands for Young Successful Life, while Thug stands for truly humble under God. “Pushin P,” the title of Gunna's 2022 track with Thug and Future, is about pushing positivity, Steel also said.
Thug's attorney went on to call the rapper's song lyrics circumstantial evidence and described Thug as an actor who only describes illegal activity in his songs, but does not participate in them.

Young Thug's YSL trial continues
Young Thug has been in jail since May 9, 2022 after being hit with a 56 indictment charging him, Gunna and over a dozen other YSL associates with violating the RICO Act. The trial, already the largest in Georiga's history, began on November 27, 2023. In July, Thug faced another setback in his ongoing gang and extortion trial, as his newly appointed judge denied the rapper's bid for bail and house arrest.
A report from Atlanta Journal-Constitution On July 30 shows Judge Paige Reece Whitaker ordered Young Thug and his five co-defendants to remain behind bars as she not only denied bond but also won't review bail. The rapper will not be released on house arrest.
Thug and his legal team sought house arrest after Judge Ural Glanville was forced to resign following a June 10 secret meeting between Glanville, the prosecution and a key witness named Kenneth “Lil Woody” Copeland.
