The Yankee dad and his estranged wife Mireddys González reached a partial settlement at their first court hearing on Friday (December 20) over allegations that he withdrew $100 million in funds from two of his companies without authorization.
After private negotiations, both parties agreed that the artist born Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez will regain the presidency of his companies El Cartel Records and Los Cangris, it was announced during the hearing. It also found that for a period of 30 days — while a plan is developed to manage the companies — $75 million in corporate accounts will remain untouched. The remaining funds are allowed to be used provided both parties approve any transaction over $100,000.
The hearing, which took place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was first reported by Measure.
The transition, which will be completed on December 26, will include the handover of documents and other related materials. Yankee also agreed to submit monthly reports on all corporate financial and administrative matters.
“I have always respected Ms. Gonzalez and I ask you to respect her as well,” the artist briefly told the press after the hearing. “It was a very harmonious process. You know the faith process I'm in. It's the best thing about the family… that we've been able to accomplish things in good faith. Everything that happens is for a greater purpose. I'm sure who I'm serving and I'm sure everything will be fine.”
The settlement comes a week after Ayala filed two lawsuits seeking injunctions against his soon-to-be ex-wife, alleging she withdrew $80 million from his El Cartel Records bank account “without authorization” and $20 million from the bank. account of another of his music labels, Los Cangris, according to court documents obtained Bulletin board.
The filing by the reggaetón creator was filed in court in San Juan against González, her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos, and El Cartel Records, a label founded by Yankee, where González reportedly serves as CEO and González Castellanos serves as secretary.
The legal battle comes just weeks after Yankee Daddy and Gonzalez announced they were separating after nearly 30 years of marriage.
