The WNBA is back for what is already proving to be a defining season for the league. The WNBA Tip-Off, presented by CarMax, will take place on Saturday (May 18).
The New York Liberty will host the Indiana Fever at Barclays in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday after beating the team 102-66 on Thursday. Saturday's game schedule will be a doubleheader with the Las Vegas Aces vs. the Los Angeles Sparks.
The season began with Caitlin Clark making her regular season debut with the Indiana Fever on Tuesday. Despite the loss, Clark's game was the most-watched WNBA game on ESPN with 2.3 million viewers across ESPN, ESPN2 and Disney+.
Tuesday's quadruple header features Indiana vs. Connecticut Sun, Las Vegas Aces vs. Phoenix Mercury, Liberty vs. Washington Mystics and Minnesota Lynx vs. Seattle Storm. Clark scored
“The hug was amazing,” Clark said of Indiana inside a pre-season interview. “I think I'm coming to a city that's really supportive [not just] basketball, but especially women's basketball, I couldn't imagine a better place to play my first season in the WNBA. I am very excited.”
Of course, Clark isn't the only rookie making her regular season debut this week. Angel Reese and Camila Cardoso suit up for their first WNBA regular season game against the Chicago Sky on Wednesday, along with Sparks rookie Cameron Brink, who will play in her first regular season game.
