After spending over two years behind bars fighting the YSL RICO case, Young Thug has been free for almost two months. Despite fans clamoring for new music from the Atlanta rapper, he has continued to leave them waiting with baited breath.
Fans are used to rappers coming out of jail or prison and releasing a seemingly ceremonial “first day out” record. However, Thugger is taking his time getting back into the limelight. During his first two weeks, Thugger made headlines with a handful of cryptic social posts and brief video appearances. In fact, according to information, he was spotted in the studio with Lil Baby, Future and Travis Scott on November 11th.
According to producer Wheezy Outta Here, the foursome have been locked in the studio working on tons of new music.
“We locked ourselves in the studio doing 20 songs a night,” Wheezy revealed in a recent interview. “Like, real deal, not even an exaggeration.”
However, so far, no music has been released to the public. With the entire hip-hop world waiting, YT seems to be in no rush.
In a post shared on Thanksgiving, Thug's sister Doraah gave some insight into Thug's delayed return and promised new music to come.
“My brother is crazy about the new music. I promise you won't be disappointed,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Just give him time to heal mentally. He lost 4 residents in 2022 and went to jail, fought a case for 2 years. In the mix of fighting for his life we lost our sister in 2023. It's coming.”
Sorry for the wait.
