The record of the year is one of the most superstar-packed categories at Sunday's (Feb. 4) 2024 Grammy Awards — but who does you do you think he should win?
We've got five past Grammy winners in the mix: 12-time winner Taylor Swift with 'Anti-Hero'? She is joined by seven-time winner Billie Eilish Barbie soundtrack contribution “What Was I Made For?”; five-time champion Jon Batiste with “Worship”; three-time winner Olivia Rodrigo with “Vampire”; and one-time winner SZA with “Kill Bill” (SZA took home Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Doja Cat in 2022 for “Kiss Me More” and leads all nominees this year with nine nods).
Then we have three potential first-time winners: boygenius (the trio of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus) with 'Not Strong Enough'? Miley Cyrus with “Flowers”? and Victoria Monét with “On My Mama”.
As defined by the Recording Academy, this year's Record of the Year Grammy goes to “the artists, producers and engineers involved in the creation of the particular recording of a song,” so the artists listed will be honored along with the behind-the-scenes players involved in its creation song, if they win.
Last year's winner in the category was Lizzo's “About Damn Time,” which competed in a field of 10 nominees and topped some stiff competition including Harry Styles' “As It Was,” Beyoncé's “Break My Soul” and Adele's “Easy On Me.” .”
