Ween will stop touring for the foreseeable future, the band announced on social media today. “Despite three great shows this summer, it has become clear that touring and performing is taking too much of a toll on Deaner's mental health,” the band wrote. A planned one Chocolate and cheese The 30th anniversary show in Philadelphia, scheduled for next month, will not take place.
Ween announced the tour in January, including several dates taking place the following month. However, a number of April dates were cancelled. Dean Ween said in a statement at the time, “For most of my life I have been blessed enough to have a career doing what I love most. […] But right now I need to step away from live performances to maintain my mental and spiritual well-being and instead focus on myself and my loved ones. I know this will be a disappointment and a great inconvenience to many people who bought tickets and made travel plans, and for that I sincerely apologize. I look forward to returning to the stage with the excitement, joy and renewed sense of inspiration that our fans deserve and that I demand of myself when we play live.”
Following those three early August shows listed in today's statement, a scheduled show in Seattle on August 6 has been postponed. The night before, they wrote on social media: “We love playing for the best fans in the world and are very disappointed that we won't be able to do these shows.”
