Adam Sandler wished fans a Merry Christmas with some happy news Happy Gilmore 2 teaser, which includes a clip from Travis Kelce's cameo in the highly anticipated sequel.
In a 45-second video posted on Christmas Day, the comedian finally reprises his role as golf prodigy Happy Gilmore — nearly 30 years after the original film premiered in 1996 — as the Kansas City Chiefs start in his role in the franchise. The clip opens with Happy happily stomping back onto the green and swinging as fans cheer him on, then Kelce – hair slicked back and mustache neatly trimmed – welcomes him inside what appears to be a private club.
“Good to see you back, Mr. Gilmore,” the football player, dressed in black tie and red vest, says with a smile as Happy looks on.
As seen in flashes throughout the rest of the teaser, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will also recur Happy Gilmore roles. The sequel doesn't have an exact release date yet, but will premiere on Netflix sometime in 2025.
“Happy Chanukah! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!” Sandler wrote, sharing the clip on Instagram. “And Happy Gilmore everyone!!!!!!”
Fans have been waiting to see Kelce join his world Happy Gilmore since August, when the Adults The actor first revealed that the NFL star will be joining the cast of the second film. Not long after, Sandler joined Kelce in the latter New Heights podcast to discuss the project, he gushes, “The scene [Travis is] he does with so many great golfers. It will be amazing. You'll be funny as hell.”
The three-time Super Bowl champion has a number of screen projects lined up in 2024, including a starring role in Ryan Murphy's Grotesquerie series on FX. He also started his first season as host Are you smarter than a celebrity?a spinoff of You are smarter than a fifth grader.
