The Chicks sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” to kick off the final night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention on Thursday night (August 22). Texas trio Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer performed the National Anthem on stage at Chicago's United Center, complementing the a capella number with three-part harmonies. Check it out below.
Later in the night, P!nk took the stage with an acoustic guitarist and a handful of singers — one of whom was her 13-year-old daughter, Willow Sage Hart. P!nk and Hart shared singing duties on the pop artist's hit ballad “What About Us.”
Throughout the week, there was speculation that Beyoncé would appear or even perform at the Democratic National Convention. But while the superstar lent her in 2016 Lemonade “Freedom” song to Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' campaign, did not attend the event.
The 2024 Democratic National Convention featured many musical guests including Stevie Wonder, Maren Morris, Mickey Guyton, James Taylor, Common, Patti LaBelle, Lil Jon, Jason Isbell, John Legend, Sheila E. and more.
