UTA has a new COO.
The talent agency says it's hiring Bob Roebuck to serve as its COO, directing the company's business operations, development, strategy, technology and other key areas. He will report to the CEO of UTA Jeremy Zimmer and president David Kramerand will join the company's board of directors.
Andrew Tauwho had served as COO while also serving as co-head of UTA Sports, will focus solely on expanding UTA's sports operations.
Roback was most recently CEO of Ingrooves Music Group, which is now part of Universal Music Group, and before that was president of musical instrument company Fender. He also co-founded a number of companies, including Dashbox, The Media Farm and LAUNCH Media, which became Yahoo Music.
“I am delighted to welcome Bob Roback to UTA,” Zimmer said in a statement. “During his successful career, Bob has built and led multiple businesses at the intersection of entertainment and technology and will be a valuable partner at UTA as we help our clients thrive in an increasingly global and complex marketplace.”
“I also want to recognize the many contributions of Andrew Thau, who has served as our COO since 2007 and became co-head of UTA Sports last year,” added Zimmer. “I am excited about what Andrew will achieve as he focuses full-time on growing our sporting presence on the global stage.”
“I have long admired UTA's commitment to its clients and ability to lead the way in defining what it means to be a global organization in a time of tremendous change and opportunity,” Roback added. “I am thrilled to be joining the company at this exciting time and look forward to shaping the future with the talented and ambitious team at UTA.”
“Bob's experience and approach make him a perfect fit for UTA's entrepreneurial and forward-looking culture,” Kramer added. “Artists, athletes and brands want to be globally engaged in every part of the entertainment landscape, and Bob will help us continue to operate at a level that exemplifies best-in-class representation.”
