UnitedMasters is looking to add to its extensive roster and give independent artists the opportunity to join the software and services platform team. Bulletin board learned on Tuesday (August 13) that UnitedMasters has launched the DEBUT+ subscription level in the United States, which will equip emerging artists with the UM resources and forward-thinking tools needed to properly rise in the industry.
Priced at $19.99 per year, artists can access the UnitedMasters library through the new subscription tier and upload their music to all streaming platforms while retaining 100% of their royalties.
UM looks to benefit from laying the groundwork for artists signed to the distributor who have made big leaps to stardom in recent years, such as Anycia and BigXthaPlug.
“Making it in music has never been stronger for independent artists, but it still requires the right partner. UnitedMasters presents the most exciting offering for independent artists of any genre at every stage of their career,” UnitedMasters CEO Steve Stoute he said in a statement.
He continued, “With DEBUT+ and the Make Your Debut Challenge, we're welcoming the next wave of independent artists to our ecosystem and empowering them with the technology, education and growth opportunities to launch sustainable careers on their own terms.”
The Make Your Debut Challenge mentioned by Stoute is going to be a competition for US-based artists that will find them participating in their pieces at UM. Ultimately, the grand prize winner will become a UnitedMasters Artist Partner with a deal worth $250,000.
Valued at $250,000, the lucrative package includes A&R and marketing budget resources, a slot at SELECTCON in New York, and access to a “full-service music team” that can create an “artist development” and personalized marketing action plan.
To participate in the Make Your Debut Challenge, potential applicants must be located in the United States and enrolled in either the DEBUT+ or SELECT membership programs. As for the track in the entry, it must have been released on the UM platform after June 1, 2024.
Artists should also post the track on Instagram or TikTok with their audio and tag UnitedMasters with the hashtag #DebutContest included in the post before filling out the appropriate contest paperwork on the company's website.
