Twenty One Pilots could land their first No.1 in the UK Albums Chart, with Clancy.
Columbus, OH duo Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun lead the midweek chart Clancy (via Atlantic/Fueled By Ramen), their seventh studio album. The recording will become the group's fourth UK top 10, following the 2015 release Blurry face (No. 5 top), 2018's Trench (No. 2) and 2021 Scaled and frozen (No. 3) — and perhaps their first leader.
Joseph and Dun will support the 13-track LP with a massive 59-date tour starting August 15 in the United States, before heading overseas for legs in Europe and Australia.
Paul Weller, however, could spoil the Pilots' party 66 (Polydor). The British songwriter's 17th studio effort sits well back at No. 2 on the Official Chart Update and is set to become his 23rd UK top 10 solo album, the Official Charts Company reports. The former frontman of The Jam and The Style Council has scored six UK No.1 solo albums: 1995's Stanley Road, Record 2002 Lighting2008 22 Dreamsof 2012 Sonic Kicksdecade of 2020 At sunset and, most recently, of 2021 Fat Pop.
Taylor Swift's blockbuster Department of Tormented Poets (EMI) is set to close out the UK top 3, falling 1-3.
Sheffield, England rockers Bring Me The Horizon are set to enter their fifth UK top 10 with Post Human: NeX Gen (RCA), new to No.5 on the blast chart, while American alt-rockers Wallows (Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston) could enjoy a career-best with Model (Atlantic), their third studio album. It's new at No. 10 on the chart update.
Meanwhile, new releases from Manchester, England-rapper Meekz (TRU at No. 12 via Meekz Music & Lifestyle). BTS star RM (Right place, wrong person at No. 17 via Polydor), British artist Niko B (dog eats dog food world at No. 20 via Believe Recordings), and American rock veteran Lenny Kravitz (Blue electric lightt at BMG's No. 27) are eyeing top 40 spots.
All will be revealed when the Official UK Albums Chart is released late on Friday, May 31.
