As TobyMac's “Nothin' Sweeter” climaxes Bulletin boardOn the Christian Airplay chart (dated Nov. 16), the singer-songwriter re-writes the record for most leaders, 14, among soloists since the survey began in 2003. He surpasses Matthew West, after the pair shared the mark since July.
Among all the acts, TobyMac combines the duo for King & Country for the second most Christian Airplay No. 1. MercyMe leads with 19.
“Nothin' Sweeter” rose 7% to 6.5 million audience impressions Nov. 1-7, according to Luminate. TobyMac, from Fairfax, Va., co-wrote the hit and the first single from his upcoming album with Benji Cowart and Jordan Mohilowski. Adds third consecutive Christian Airplay chart topper (not counting holiday tracks). “Faithfully” reigned for seven weeks starting in February after “Cornerstone” with Zach Williams led for two weeks in July 2023. (Among those eligible singles, “Christmas Hits Different,” featuring Tasha Layton, reached at No. 2 last December.)
Meanwhile, “Nothin' Sweeter” dominates the Christian AC Airplay chart for a fifth week, reaching No. 11. 1 by TobyMac in the ranking.
The fifth No. 1 of Skillet
Christian rock band Skillet earns fifth No. 1 (and fifth No. 1 debut) on Top Christian Albums as his final set, Revolutionroars at No. 1. The 10-song LP, released on November 1, earned 12,000 equivalent album units, with 10,000 album sales, in its week of release.
Next up is the album by the quartet of John Cooper, Korey Cooper, Seth Morrison and Jen Ledger Sovereigntywhich reached No. 2 Top Christian Album in January 2022. Three consecutive group leaders preceded the set: Victorious (August 2019), Unleashed (August 2016) and Increase (July 2013). The band scored their first No. 1 me Sleepless in September 2009.
