Singer-songwriter TobyMac (real name Toby McKeehan) delivers his 10th No.1 Advertising signChristian AC Airplay Chart (dated February 10) with “Faithfully”.
On January 26-Feb. 1 week into tracking, the song has increased 9% in plays, according to Luminate.
TobyMac, of Fairfax, Va., co-wrote “Faithfully” with Kyle Williams, and the pair produced it with Micah Kuiper. The track is from TobyMac's LP Life after deathwhich reached the top of the Top Christian Albums in September 2022, becoming his sixth No. 1 set.
“Faithfully” follows TobyMac's “Christmas Hits Different” (featuring Tasha Layton), which reached No. 3 on Christian AC Airplay in December, and “Cornerstone” (featuring Zach Williams), which reigned for seven weeks starting last June. TobyMac fronted “City on My Knees” for five frames starting in November 2009.
With 10 Christian AC Airplay top 10s, TobyMac is tied for fifth since the chart began in 2003. MercyMe boasts a record 20 No. 1s, followed by Jeremy Camp and Casting Crowns with 13 each.
“Reminder” that there is a new No. 1
JJ Hairston's “Reminder,” featuring Deon Kipping, climbs to No. 1 on Gospel Airplay. The song, co-written by Hairston and Kipping, rose 6% in the works.
Hairston has the second Gospel Airplay leader after “You Deserve It,” with his backing group Youthful Praise, began a 10-week mandate in March 2017. His latest follows “Thankful,” which reached No. .2 in January 2023, marking his ninth of 10 top 10 hits.
Kipping scores his first Gospel Airplay No. 1 in his fourth appearance. He first got “What's Coming Is Better,” which peaked at No. 18 in 2012, followed by “Place Called Victory” (No. 13, 2015) and “God Is Working” (No. 30, 2021 ).
