The suspect in the Foolio murder is linked to a previous attempted murder of the rapper
Foolio was shot and killed outside a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Florida while celebrating his 26th birthday on June 23. Three other people were also injured. Police say the five suspects traveled from Jacksonville, Florida to Tampa to kill Fulio as part of an ongoing gang war in Jacksonville. Chance and Andrews, police allege, were watching the rapper while he was out and about in Tampa partying with his friends while Gathright and Rashad and Davion Murphy were filming.
Police also allege that when Gathright was arrested on July 27, authorities found a Glock 9MM pistol, a rifle and nine spent rifle casings in his vehicle. The spent casing reportedly matched shell casings from two shootings, including a homicide in May and the shooting of Foolio last October. If this is true, it means that Gathright may have already tried to kill Foolio in the past.
