Three years after the premiere of the first season, Their is back on Prime Video, with a new timeline and storyline. Them: The Scarepremieres on Prime Video on Thursday (April 25).
Deborah Ayorinde stars in the second season of the horror anthology series, which is set in Los Angeles in 1991. The series centers around Dawn Reeve (Ayorinde), a Los Angeles homicide detective who investigates the murder of a foster mother during of one of the most controversial periods in the city.
The series stars Luke James, Ashley Thomas, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Alison Pill, Ryan Kwanten, Melody Hurd, Jeremy Bobb, Joshua J. Williams and Pam Grier.
The first season was set in 1950s Compton and received backlash for its gruesome, racist violence. “I think we set out to do a show that was an emotional rollercoaster and very rooted in truth,” series creator Little Marvin said in an interview with The Grio in 2021. “I'm not interested in cardboard cutouts. I'm interested in all our complexity and all our nuances and all our flaws. And so I wanted to not be afraid to explore it.”
Them: The Scare is executive produced by Little Marvin, Miri Yoon, Roy Lee and Steve Prinz.
