The Weeknd has revealed the stunning album cover Hurry up tomorrowthe final part of a trilogy that began with the 2020s After Hours and 2022 Dawn FMon the weekend.
“ALBUM COVER,” she captioned the art, which she revealed on social media on Saturday (September 7) along with a Hurry up tomorrow pre-order link.
THE Hurry up tomorrow The album cover is a headshot of Abel Tesfaye, stunning in its simplicity. The viewer's gaze is focused on his own — it is fixed in a pained gaze and expertly lit. He looks like he's holding back tears. Wearing a classic black tank with only the straps showing through the frame, he is perched in front of the darkness and leaning forward. It is an evocative portrait.
Bulletin board reached out to a representative for Tesfaye to inquire about the photographer behind the cover photo, but had not heard back by press time.
The pre-order for Hurry up tomorrow released Saturday via The Weeknd's webstore, with a first-press vinyl available for $33 and a first-press CD for $12 (limit four per customer for each).
The album's release date has yet to be confirmed.
Hurry up tomorrow was announced on September 4, with a visual teaser and press statement explaining its place in The Weeknd's trilogy as “the creative pinnacle of the project, serving as the third and final chapter crafted with existential and self-referential themes as seen with the last visionary teasers that have fans fired up with anticipation for this final installment.”
The album cover followed on September 7, the date of The Weeknd's anticipated live stream from São Paulo, where he will perform a special one-night-only concert at Estádio MorumBIS. (See below.)
Tesfaye composed the title track of his upcoming album in Sao Paulo just under a year ago when his After Hours Til Dawn tour brought him to the city in October for two nights at Allianz Parque. Billboard Brazil reported for the first time.
As for what's to come — the new show and Hurry up tomorrow — he said Billboard Brazil“There is always pressure to surpass my last project. Growth is important. Sometimes it might not be what people want to hear from me right now, but when the body of work is done, I hope they appreciate what I'm trying to achieve. I've been working on this discography for a long time. It was all planned.”
“I'm always trying to achieve something I've never done before musically,” he added. “Sometimes it may not be clear at first listen [to the album]but fans seem to pick up on it over time.”
