The Smile Cancel tour dates after Jonny Greenwood was admitted to hospital with a serious illness

The Smile are canceling an August European tour following Jonny Greenwood's recent hospitalization. “A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill with an infection that required urgent hospital care, some of it in intensive care,” the band shared. “Thankfully he is now out of danger and will soon be home.” See Smile's full note, as well as the band's affected tour dates, below.

The Smile—featuring Greenwood, Thom Yorke and Tom Skinner—have released their second studio album, Eye wall, in January. The trio played shows in support of the album in March and June.

A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill with an infection that required urgent hospital care, some of it in intensive care. Fortunately, he is now out of danger and will soon return home.

We have been instructed by the medical team responsible for Jonny's care to cancel all engagements until he has made a full recovery. To this end, The Smile tour in Europe in August is cancelled.
