There was no place like it The masked singer on Wednesday March 13 as the quirky singing competition celebrated 'Wizard of Oz' night.
Cleocatra, The Beets, Gumball and Afghan Hound took turns at the microphone, each of them faced with the prospect of going home early.
The bright canine performed 'The Lion Sleeps' by the Tokens, the feline upright tackled 'Stormy Weather' by Etta James, the sugar dispenser performed a medley of Jack Haley's 'If I Had A Heart' and 'Heartbeat Song ». by Kelly Clarkson, and those ever-smiling roots performed Michael Buble's “Home.”
Dog and Candy were at the bottom of the list and entered the fray for 'Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead'. The winner survives. The loser, goodbye.
The night of the “Wizard of Oz” was not magical for the Afghan Hound, who after the performances found herself in the dog's house.
The mask came off revealing reality star, actress, influencer and former beauty queen Savannah Chrisley of Chrisley knows better.
The border behind the helmet was, no doubt, a welcome distraction for Chrisley, whose parents were jailed last year after being convicted of federal bank fraud and tax evasion in June 2022.
“Honestly, my life in the last year has changed dramatically,” she explained when her identity was revealed and host Nick Cannon asked why she decided to join Season 11. “I lost both my parents to the federal system. And now I have custody of my 15-year-old brother and 10-year-old sister,” a comment that drew concerned faces from judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and newcomer Rita Ora.
“So if I can teach them anything it's take advantage of every opportunity you get and don't back down.”
There were lessons for Chrisley as well. “I know the song is not for me. I don't know what a note is, nor do I know what a beat is,” he continued. “But, it was a good experience.”
Another reason to participate in this 2024 season is 'cause I know my parents can watch it. And that was a big thing for me.”
Chrisley as Afghan Hound follows Kevin Hart's (as Book) exit in last week's season premiere The masked singer.
