Diddy's Harlem Capital Prep charter school is cutting ties with the embattled music mogul, and parents, students and former employees are calling the school a disaster.
Diddy's Harlem School is reportedly a disaster
On Friday (March 15), The cut released a lengthy report detailing the destruction and dysfunction of Diddy's Harlem Capital Prep charter school, which the mogul opened in 2016. Fourteen people, including students, parents and former employees, described the school, located in East Harlem, N.Y. York as one of the city's poorest neighborhoods, with frequent violence and a high turnover rate. Not to mention, Diddy is reportedly barely involved with the school aside from the occasional photo.
“He was supposed to be an inspiration to these kids, coming from what you might consider the hood — and he wasn't,” one parent said.
There are reportedly no full teaching staff throughout his tenure, with students sometimes not being taught lessons for months. Instead, they find themselves wandering around the lunch room. Parents claim they were not told about a bedbug outbreak and said police were often called on students who violated the school's uniform policy.
Capital Prep currently serves 500 students in grades six through 12, most of whom are black from low-income families.
XXL reached out to Diddy's team for comment.

Diddy was captured on video by the paparazzi as he left a restaurant in Los Angeles. In the video, Puff can be seen smiling as he leaves the restaurant with his sons by his side. The group gets into a waiting SUV as the photos take flash photos, but Diddy doesn't speak.
