Rapper And TDE Executives React To J. Cole Dissing Kendrick Lamar
On Friday (April 5), J. Cole shook up the rap game with the release of his surprise project, It can be deleted later, featuring the K-Dot diss song “7 Minute Drill.” The new track has the internet talking, including people associated with Kendrick's former label, Top Dawg Entertainment.
TDE rapper Reason is excited about the battle.
“Rap fun again man,” he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I hope you all understand this sport and don't take it too seriously, at least from dot and Cole. This is going to be a friendly match. I'm excited to hear both of them take the s**t with no real problems Just rap !”
TDE President Terrence “Punch” Henderson also participated.
“SMH. I thought it was pretty cool to pimp a butterfly,” he posted in a series of tweets, referring to Cole laying out the album on his new song. “The current rap climate made me realize that a lot of you haters in the music industry hate Kdot. lol you tell me you haven't been secretly hating ALL this time!”
Another Top Dawg president, Anthony “Moosa” Tiffith Jr., is unimpressed.
“Yeah, that's not it,” he tweeted, attributing the quote to Power 105.1 Breakfast Club co-host Charlemagne Tha God.

J. Cole Disses Kendrick Lamar
J. Cole responded to Kendrick's diss last month on Future and Metro Boomin's track “Like That” by returning smoke to It may be deleted later track “7 Minute Drill.” Cole is also facing backlash for a lyric on the album that people consider homophobic which may also be aimed at K-Dot.
