By Taylor Swift Department of Tormented Poets is just hours away from arriving on Friday (April 19), and the pop superstar is building anticipation by teasing the lead single, “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone.
Swift took to X to share a preview of the upcoming music video, featuring dramatic scenes of the duo rummaging through archives, hugging on an empty street and throwing chairs, before the clip cuts to Swift looking at the camera with a smokey eye and her iconic red lip.
“At this hearing, I stand before my fellow members of The Tortured Poets Department with a summary of my findings,” the singer captioned the post, noting that the video will arrive Friday (April 19) at 8 p.m. m. ET.
Earlier in the day, Swift confirmed that “Fortnight” would be the lead single for TTPD. “The first single from Department of Tormented Poets is…………. A fortnight which includes [Post Malone],” Swift captioned a post that appears to be the single's cover art. “I've been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those tunes he creates that stick in your head forever. I saw the magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight.”
“Fortnight” is one of two collaborations Department of Tormented Poets. Grammy-nominated alt-rock act Florence + the Machine appears on the album's eighth track, “Florida!!!” The new single also marks the first collaboration between Swift and Malone.
