Following Department of Tormented PoetsMonochrome 'shades of greige', will Taylor Swift's next era be 'screaming colour'?
The Eras Tour — where Swift has been known to keep fans guessing about what colors she'll be wearing and has been debuting particularly bright and colorful dresses in recent weeks across North America — is on hiatus this weekend, but Swift is still getting a colorful new dress while in New York.
On Friday night (November 8), Swift was photographed arriving at a Manhattan dinner spot. She stepped out of a car wearing a familiar Vivienne Westwood silhouette: a style called the Sunday Dress, revived from Vivienne Westwood's Spring-Summer 1997 collection (and worn by Swift previously, just in more subtle colorways). This Friday night she wore a version of the dress with a simple, striped skirt that becomes bold and colorful when it reaches a corset-inspired bodice. The bodice of the dress brings to mind an art canvas, with yellow and red paint mixed together to become orange, all over the blue striped fabric of the skirt.
Meanwhile, back on stage for the final leg of her Eras tour, Swift has embraced the vibrancy in a series of new, colorful dresses she wore during her set of songs from the acoustic surprise. She's been cycling through these latest Roberto Cavalli looks since she first wore them in Miami and New Orleans in October. (At football game observations, it mostly went for a more understated look: lots of black, mixed with Chiefs red.)
The Eras Tour, which showcases music from the early days of Swift's career through 2024, officially ends on December 8. She's yet to announce what she has in store for her after it's over, but she's been known to drop hints about what she's wearing.
Here's a quick roundup of the colorful dresses Swift recently debuted:
Arriving at dinner with friends in a dress that's a surreal dreamscape on top and utilitarian stripes on the bottom, Swift wore a Vivienne Westwood design in an unexpected color scheme. She accessorized her street style look on Nov. 8 in New York with a pair of burgundy Aquazzura velvet heeled sandals, a Vivienne Westwood small black bag, and a vintage statement necklace with a large coin as a centerpiece.
One of Swift's new dresses that she wore while singing surprise songs on her show is this custom, colorful gown from Roberto Cavalli, with the hot red-orange fading to muted yellow and then royal blue. She has been wearing this design very recently as she nears the end of her Eras tour. Here, he is pictured in it on October 25 in New Orleans.
Also courtesy of Roberto Cavalli is the same dress style as above, but in a pink-blue color scheme that turns purple in some places. The photo below is from her acoustic set on November 1st in Indianapolis.
On November 5th, Roberto Cavalli creative director Fausto Puglisi posted a photo on Instagram of a bright yellow, orange and pink dress worn by Swift (in the same style seen above), which was only seen on the scene this fall at the duration of her audio set. . “My new sunset, new orchid, new tropical dream,” she captioned the image, which you can see here.
Deep in a slideshow of photos from her recent concerts in New Orleans on Oct. 29, Swift also included a photo of herself in a new dress on Instagram, wearing another Roberto Cavalli dress she's added to Eras' surprise songtime wardrobe picks . This one was in blue and purple. See the dress here (shown in the 14th photo of the set).
