Ridley Scott is in negotiations to direct and produce the Bee Gees biopic, Deadline reports and Pitchfork can confirm. If confirmed, Scott will produce alongside Stacey Snider, GK Film's Graham King and Scott Free Productions' Michael Pruss.
Bee Gees' Barry Gibb is executive producing the new biopic, which will be distributed worldwide by Paramount Pictures. John Logan, who co-wrote Ridley Scott's play Gladiator and Alien pacthe wrote the script for the film.
Ridley Scott is the latest director attached to the Bee Gees biopic. Kenneth Branagh was said, in 2021, to direct the film and, at the time, Ben Elton was writing the script. The following year, John Carney was the new director added to the film after Branagh was reportedly forced to cancel the film due to scheduling conflicts. John Logan also co-wrote the screenplay. After Carney also had to leave due to scheduling conflicts, Lorene Scafaria got the gig. Scott is of course now in negotiations to take over.
