Ray fixes her Saturday night live debuts this weekend (April 5) — but first, she got a valuable slang lesson from Kristen Wiig and Bowen Yang.
“It's always an honor to work with an OG,” Yang tells Wiig, who is an ex SNL cast member and is set to host the show for the fifth time. Wiig then clarifies to Raye that “OG” stands for “Opulent Girl,” which makes the “Escapism” singer look confused since the acronym actually stands for “Original Gangster.”
Yang then interjects, “Yeah, OG, a girl who is ostentatiously rich or luxurious or luxurious. I can't believe you've never heard of this Ray!”
Wiig's new series Palm Royale — which she stars in and executive produces — premieres March 20 on AppleTV+. The previous Saturday night live The cast member will host the episode, while Raye will do it SNL debut as a musical guest. The British singer-songwriter recently made history by picking up six BRIT Awards, the most ever awarded to an artist in one year.
Watch the promo below and catch up Saturday night live on Saturday (April 6) at 11:30 PM ET on NBC, before the episode begins streaming on the Peacock.
