Post Malone is expanding his creative bandwidth.
The “Sunflower” singer is teaming up with Vault Comics as well as Michael Bay and Brad Fuller's Platinum Dunes to create an all-new IP universe based on an original Malone story. The story is inspired by elements of “road thrillers like Mad Max: Fury Road and demonic horror as Evil Dead,” according to a press release, and will take place in medieval Europe, “where the only thing standing in the way of the demon horde infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent back from the heavens.”
“I'm so excited to share this awful story with the world, and I couldn't have asked for better partners than Michael Bay and Vault to help bring this story to life,” Post said in a press statement.
“I love working with talented people and Post Malone is incredibly gifted,” Bay added. “I'm excited to work with him on such an interesting concept, and when you add Vault to the mix, you raise the bar to another level. This new IP is exactly what the graphics world needs right now.”
Vault will begin the universe's first story as a graphic novel, to be released in 2025. Additionally, Post Malone, Platinum Dunes, and Vault will simultaneously develop a feature adaptation.
It's been an exciting 2024 so far for Post Malone, who has begun collaborating with Taylor Swift on “Fortnight,” the lead single from her 11th studio album Department of Tormented Poets.
