Post Malone's “Pour Me a Drink,” featuring Blake Shelton, tops Bulletin boardCountry Airplay survey (dated October 19) for second week. The group advanced 12% to 31.3 million audience impressions Oct. 4-10, according to Luminate.
The song, which Malone co-wrote, became his second Country Airplay No. 1, after “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen, reigned for four frames beginning in June. Both hits are from his introductory LP in the genre, F-1 Triswhich peaked at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart dated August 31 and on the all-genre Billboard 200 with 250,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. The set has earned 1.2 million units in its first seven weeks of release.
“Pour Me a Drink” marks his 29th Country Airplay No. 1 by Shelton, a streak that began when his first entry, “Austin,” reigned for five frames in 2001. He adds his 18th multi-week reign. “Austin” is his biggest hit, followed by “Honey Bee” (four weeks, 2011) and “Some Beach” (four, 2004-05). The only acts with more multi-week No. 1s are Tim McGraw and George Strait, each with 21, and Kenny Chesney, with 20 (out of a record-breaking 33).
Meanwhile, of the 20 songs to top Country Airplay in 2024, “Pour Me a Drink” is just the sixth to feature a multi-frame command. In 2023, 12 of the 19 No. 1s rode for more than one week.
Post Malone records an additional song on Country Airplay: fellow F-1 Tris “A Guy for That,” featuring Luke Combs, is at its No. 26 high (6.6 million, up 6%).
