PJ Harvey has announced her first North American tour since 2017. The new shows in support of I Inside the Old Year I'm Dying start in September. Check out Harvey's upcoming tour dates, including spring and summer shows across Europe and the UK, below.
Harvey's 2017 North American tour included a performance at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. She developed her current live show with theater director Ian Rickson, set designer Rae Smith, lighting designers Paule Constable and Louisa Smurthwaite and fashion designer Todd Lynn. Performs on tour with bandmates John Parish, Jean-Marc Butty, Giovanni Ferrario and James Johnston.
Along with the tour news, Harvey shared the music video for “Seem an I.” Filmed at Kennel Farm in England, the visual was directed by Colm Bairéad and stars Ruth Wilson. Check it out below.
“Ruth and I became friends after working together on the Cleo Barnard film Dark RiverPJ Harvey said in a press statement. “I've always really admired Ruth's work as an actress, so I've long had a dream that we could work together again in some way. When the opportunity came to work with Colm Bairéad, I knew he was a director that Ruth thought highly of, as did I, so it was only right that I asked her if she would star in the film. I find the resulting short film to be beautiful and moving because of Ruth's magical presence and Colm's unique vision.”
Ruth Wilson added: “I've always been a huge PJ fan so it was a great privilege to work alongside Colm and Polly to bring 'Seem an I' to visual life in this mysterious and hypnotic short film. There's no better way to spend a day in the magical world of PJ Harvey.”
I Inside the Old Year I'm Dying earned PJ Harvey a nomination for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. It was the eighth nomination of the British musician's career. has yet to win a Grammy.
