The Music Sustainability Summit (MSS) has announced the schedule for its next event, which is set to take place on February 3, 2025, at Solotech Studios in Los Angeles.
Produced by the Music Sustainability Alliance (MSA), the second edition of the conference will focus on solutions to the effects of climate change on the music industry, with a particular focus on the well-being of fans. The day will include peer learning opportunities, keynotes, panel discussions and breakout sessions, with tracks focused on business strategy, operations and communication and engagement.
Planning for 2025 includes:

Progress - Beyond the Music: The Role of Fans to Drive Change
- Cancel Culture: Challenges for Artists When Speaking Out
- Gen Z Vision: How we think the industry should tackle the climate crisis
- Nutrition at scale: Can plant-based and climate-friendly food at events make a real impact?
- Setting the stage for change: Blueprints for success in ecological spaces
- Energy Revolution: The Modern World Of Clean Power to Decarbonize Shows
- The legal landscape on policies affecting change and mitigation of Greenwashing
- Tags: The Pipeline of Music Production, Delivery, and Consumption
Participants in these talks will be announced in the coming months and registrations for the 2025 summit are now open. As in 2024, Bulletin board will be the official media sponsor of MSS.
“The climate crisis is a crisis of everything, and more and more we are seeing these negative effects in our industry,” said MSA CEO Amy Morrison he said in a statement. “And the music industry is uniquely positioned to use its power to inform and inspire audiences about the challenges and opportunities we all face. By sharing best practices, expert views, tools for responses and general insights about the directions we are heading, MSS 25 provides a unique platform to affect real change.”
Last year's inaugural summit drew more than 300 workers from across the music industry, with day-long panels focusing on the impact of climate change on their business.
Prior to the conference, MSA will continue its ongoing free webinar series on November 13 at 10am. PT with a talk on environmental regulations and the music industry. This and other events in the webinar series will be hosted by MSA's Chief Strategy Officer Joel McCower. Registration is open now.
