Range Media Partners' Range Music has signed Disney star Meg Donnelly to a recording contract, the company announced on Friday (October 11). The label is distributed through Capitol Music Group and Virgin Music & Artist Label Services.
Best known for her roles in Zombie movie franchises and High School Musical: The Musical: The SeriesDonnelly is currently working on new music and released the single “by my heart” on Friday. A press release adds that it has completed its work on the Zombies series after six years.
Partner of Range Music Jared Cotterwho also co-manages Shaboozey, spearheaded the signing.
“I've admired Meg's talent and tenacity for years, and I'm thrilled to finally have the opportunity to work with her,” Cotter said in a statement. “She's a genre-blending artist with success across multiple formats, and Range Music is uniquely positioned to help her reach superstar status. We are very much looking forward to being a part of her journey to the top.”
Donnelly was named Radio Disney's NBT (Next Big Thing) in 2018 and has since performed alongside artists such as the Jonas Brothers, Avril Lavigne and Alessia Cara. recently opened for Doja Cat as well. In February, he released the single “title”, a collaboration with producer Tenroc. Its creative director is Max Phamwho has collaborated with A-listers including Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake and Rosalía.
Kasual Kaswho manages Donnelly at Big Wins Only, said the team “chose Range because of their incredible creative team and what they were able to create. It feels really special. Their entire staff felt young, hungry and really understood the long-term vision for Meg as an artist, so it was an easy decision for us. On the business side, Range was also extremely flexible and understood that deals are structured differently now for artists and made sure to defend ownership. We've been in talks with a lot of labels, but this one really felt like a collaboration and that's what we always wanted.”
Added Kristina Mazzollawho also serves on Donnelly's management team: “Meg is an unquestionable superstar, who is so confident in her vision and was willing to hold out until the right partner came along. For Meg, that partner was Range. After the “title” was released, it was clear that Range truly understood the path Meg was carving out for herself. Launched in 2020, Range Media's music division is run by managing partners Matt Graham, Jack Minihan, Tyler Henry, Melissa Ruderman, Chris Thomas, Evan Winicker, Corey Litwin and Shawn McSpaddentogether with partners Rachel Douglas, Ace Christian, Joel Zimmerman and Cotter.
