Martin Short is set to host Saturday Night Live this weekend (Dec. 21) and couldn't help but take playful jabs at his friends in a new promo for the upcoming episode.
In the hilarious clip shared on Wednesday (December 18), Short surprises them SNL cast with Christmas gifts to celebrate the holiday season as well as the last episode of the year. However, when the boxes were opened, they were empty.
That's when Short revealed that the “something special” he got them is a “job wrapping all my presents for all my famous friends.”
Among these gifts was a How to develop a personality book for Colin Jost, a baby rattle for Al Pacino and an 'SPF infinity' sun lotion for Only murders in the building co-star and longtime friend Steve Martin, because “let's face it, Steve is whiter than a Coldplay meet and greet.”
When cast members approach Short to wish him a Merry Christmas and hug him, the comedian pulls away. “Back! Don't touch me,” he yells at them. “It's Merry Christmas from a distance.”
Hozier is set to take to the stage as musical guest during the Short-hosted episode, which airs just weeks after the Irish superstar's December 6 release Unreal Unearth: Endlessan expanded version of the 2023 album.
