Chicago noise-rock band Melkbelly are back with their first new music in three years. The quartet shared a 7″ single featuring the tracks “KMS Express” and “Precious Cargo.” Listen to the new songs below (via Exploding in Sound).
According to Melkbelly drummer James Wetzel, “KMS Express” and “Precious Cargo” were created “directly in response to the live void”.
Singer and guitarist Miranda Winters added:
It's only been four years since Melkbelly's last studio album, Crumb. The band's 2020 thunderous rock album included the notable tracks “Humid Heart” and “LCR”. From CrumbMelkbelly have been fairly quiet – partly due to the pandemic disrupting their record release plans – apart from a contribution to Just having a great collectiona holiday album put together by Father/Daughter and Wax Nine Records featuring Melkbelly's cover of Everclear's 'Hating You for Christmas'.
