As our current political discourse turns especially dark, Lil Nas X goes all out to find the “Light Again” with his latest song.
On Friday (November 15), the rapper unveiled his new single “Light Again,” taken from his recently announced sophomore album. Dreamboy. Throughout the hard-hitting, house-inspired new song, Lil Nas looks back on his meteoric rise to the top of pop dominance and vows to reach new creative heights.
The track comes after Lil Nas X stated that he was entering the era of his new album. In a series of posts he shared throughout the week, the “Old Town Road” singer revealed the name of his next project as Dreamboy and teased that he was “back and better” with his latest set of songs. Of course, his classic internet troll humor remained completely intact. During a trailer for his new project, Lil Nas visits the title Dreamboy to remind him who he is: “A favorite,” he declares.
In early 2024, Lil Nas X announced his return to pop with “J Christ,” a controversial pop-rap track that saw the singer dive into anti-LGBTQ Christians throughout the release. The star also shared two other unique solo singles this year – “Where Do We Go Now?” from his HBO documentary Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero and “Here We Go” from Netflix Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F — while also jumping on a pair of collaborations with Kevin Abstract (“Tennessee”) and Camila Cabello (“He Knows”).
