Fresh from Timothée Chalamet channeling Bob Dylan on the red carpet, fans can now dress like the legendary artist, thanks to a new vintage-inspired Levi's collection. To celebrate the upcoming biopic A complete strangerstarring Chalamet, Levi's recreates Dylan's signature style with a capsule collection inspired by vintage pieces worn by the singer in the 1960s.
The film, directed by James Mangold, chronicles the life of a young Bob Dylan during his rise to fame in New York's West Village folk scene decades ago. To faithfully recreate the singer's iconic look, Levi's collaborated with the film's costume designer, Arianna Phillips, on three signature pieces to bring Dylan's wardrobe to life.
At the heart of the collaboration is a classic 501 jean with a unique twist. Paying homage to Dylan's ex-girlfriend Suze Rotolo, who customized pairs of Levi's jeans with a bootcut insert to fit the singer's boots, this new release will offer the same bespoke style. The collection also includes a recreation of the 'D' belt Dylan was known for wearing, and a vintage suede jacket.
Each item comes with special tributes to the film and the singer, including a hidden typed note in the watch pocket of the jeans that reads “I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours” – an early song lyric by Dylan from Talkin' Blues of World War III.
