Lenny Kravitz brought a heavy dose of rock and roll to London's Wembley ahead of the start of the 2024 UEFA Champions League final.
Ahead of the match between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid on Saturday (1 June), the 60-year-old performed shortened versions of some of his biggest songs. The rocker's six-minute high-energy set opened with “Fly Again” and closed with “Are you Gonna Go My Way.”
The opening show was presented by Pepsi.
The Champions League football competition, the most famous club competition on the planet, pits German heavyweights Dortmund against Spanish giants Real Madrid. About 90,000 fans were expected to fill the stadium, with a global audience of 100 million watching at home, according to tournament officials.
Kravitz has been a steady presence at awards ceremonies this year. In a short time, she was immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, received the music icon award at the 2024 People's Choice Awards, the CFDA fashion icon award and earned a nomination for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
The legendary artist is currently promoting his 12th studio album, Blue electric light, arriving May 24 via Roxie Records/BMG. The set was written and recorded by Kravitz at his studio in the Bahamas.
Following his appearance in the Champions League final, Kravitz will embark on a summer European arena and festival tour, kicking off June 23 at the Sporthalle in Hamburg, Germany. He'll also have the chance to play some new tunes for US audiences at the Blue Electric Light Las Vegas Residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, taking place on October 18-19, 23, 25 and 26.
