LE SSERAFIM celebrates its first No.1 Bulletin boardTop Album Sales Chart Like CRAZY crowns the chart dated September 14. The set debuts atop the chart with 37,500 copies sold in the US in the week ending September 5, according to Luminate. It is the Korean pop group's fourth triple-charting effort, their total charting effort.
Also in the top 10 of the new top album sales chart, Destroy Lonely scores its first top 10 with its No. 3 bow Love lasts foreverwhile Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds score their highest charting set yet wild God starts at No. 4.
Bulletin boardThe Top Albums Sales chart ranks the best-selling albums of the week based on traditional album sales only. The history of the chart dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Bulletin board began charting electronically tracked track count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Net album sales was the sole metric used by the Billboard 200 album chart through the list dated December 6, 2014, after which that chart changed to a methodology that combines album sales with track-equivalent album units and album-equivalent units flow. Of CRAZYFirst week sales totaled 37,500 copies, CD sales totaled 36,500, and digital download album sales totaled 1,000. CRAZY's first week was boosted by its availability on more than 20 CD variants, all featuring collectible branded paper ephemera such as photo cards, postcards, stickers and posters.
Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet is at No. 2 on Top Albums with 28,000 sold in its second week (down 85%).
Destroy Lonely records its first top 10 and best sales week as well Love lasts forever reaches No. 3 with 19,000 sales. The hip-hop album's first week was boosted by its availability on a signed CD edition and two digital download album variants – all exclusively on the artist's online store. The latter two sold for $5 and each included five additional bonus songs (five different songs per variant).
The new studio album by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, wild Goddebuts at No. 4, marking the group's highest-ever effort at top album sales. It launches with 13,000 sales – the best sales week since Skeleton key sold 15,000 copies in its first week (debuting at No. 13 on the chart dated October 1, 2016). The new album was available on five vinyl variants, which combined to sell 8,000 copies (falling to No. 2 on the Vinyl Albums chart).
