Lana Del Rey is gearing up to release her upcoming country album, Lassoand the superstar opened up about her incredible career path in a new interview NME.
When asked how she feels about being proven wrong by haters amid her success, the superstar replied: “No, maybe three years ago there was a sense of vindication, but now it's just fun. I do not know why. If you stay long enough, it's easy. There's no justification, no nothing – I'm just happy to be here. It's easy that way.”
As for her appearance in the country world, Del Rey recalled a moment she had with friend and producer Jack Antonoff before the Billboard and NMPA Songwriter Awards in February, where she initially announced the upcoming album. “When I gave Jack Antonoff the Producer of the Year award, I said, 'Welcome to Nashville in Hollywood and Hollywood, welcome to Nashville because the music industry is gone, it's gone out of the country. And shut up. 5000 people, dead silent. Then the next week, we had three major artists announce major country albums.”
He continued, “So where does the 'Lasso' go? I really have no idea now!”
The project is slated for release in September and marks her 10th studio LP. The release is the sequel to 2023 Did you know there is a tunnel under Ocean Blvdwhich reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart.
