Kendrick Lamar will perform the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Watch him make the announcement in the promotional video below.
Super Bowl LIX takes place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Apple Music is the presenting sponsor of the halftime show, so the 2025 event is officially known as the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.
In a press statement, Lamar said: “Rap music is still the most impressive genre to date. And I'll be there to remind people why. They got the right one.”
Lamar's company with Dave Free, pgLang, is handling creative direction for the show. Diversified Production Services is producing the halftime telecast with Jay-Z's Roc Nation and Jesse Collins as executive producers, Hamish Hamilton as director and Roc Nation also “as the live show's strategic entertainment advisor.”
“Kendrick Lamar is truly a once in a generation artist and performer,” said Jay-Z. “His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. It has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture worldwide. Kendrick's work transcends music and his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Lamar was among the star-studded, aggressive hip-hop-forward Super Bowl LVI halftime performers. The 2022 show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California also featured Drs. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.
Last February, Usher headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in Nevada. brought out Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Lil Jon, HER and Jermaine Dupri during his hit-filled set.
