Jimmy Fallon's first holiday album, 'Festive seasoningdebut at No. 2 on Bulletin boardTop Holiday Albums chart and at No. 1 on the Comedy Albums chart (both dated November 16). It is the entertainer's first album since 2012.
The star-studded hit debuted with nearly 13,000 album equivalents earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 7, according to Luminate. Traditional album sales make up nearly 12,000 of that amount. In comedy albums, Festive seasoning is the second Grammy Award and Emmy Award No. 1 in the 20-year chart. The NBC Tonight show The host previously topped the list with Blew your pants 2012.
Festive seasoning also bows at No. 3 on Top Albums Sales and No. 9 on Vinyl Albums (dated Nov. 16).
All charts dated November 16 will be updated to Bulletin boardon the website on Tuesday, November 12.
Festive seasoning includes some previously released collaborations, such as “It Was a… (Masked Christmas),” with Ariana Grande and Megan The Stallion, and “Almost Too Early for Christmas” with Dolly Parton. Among the new tracks in the set: “Holiday” with the Jonas Brothers, “You'll Be There” with Justin Timberlake and “New Year's Eve Polka (5-4-3-2-1)” with “Weird Al” Yankovic and The Roots.
At No. 1 on the Top Holiday Albums is a familiar festive face, like Michael Bublé's Christmas jumps 3-1 for a 53rd straight week atop the chart with just over 13,000 equivalent album units gained (up 190%).
On the all-genre Billboard 200, five holiday albums stand out in the tally. Buble's former captain Christmas re-enters No. 72, Fallon bows at No. 84, Mariah Carey Merry Christmas re-enters No. 93, the new Bing Crosby collection Absolutely Christmas debut at No. 150 (his first chart debut since 2012) and the Vince Guaraldi Trio TV Soundtrack at A Charlie Brown Christmas re-enters No. 170.
The top holiday albums will continue to be compiled and published weekly during the season until it ends in early January 2025. It typically returns to Billboard's weekly chart menu in late October each year.
