The Embassy of Japan assures fans that Taylor Swift will have time to attend the Super Bowl after her Eras Tour concert in Tokyo.
As part of her massive Eras world tour, the pop superstar will play sold-out shows at Japan's Tokyo Dome from February 7-10, before making a blockbuster trip to Australia later in the month.
On Friday (February 2), the Japanese Embassy in Washington, DC, issued a statement on X (ex Twitter) that Swift will indeed be able to make Super Bowl LVIII to support boyfriend Travis Kelce as the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on February 11.
“The Embassy of Japan in the United States is aware of recent media reports regarding the steps Taylor Swift must take to travel from Tokyo after her February 10 concert in Las Vegas in time to watch the Kansas City Chiefs to play in Super Bowl LVIII,” the statement begins.
“Despite the 12-hour flight and the 17-hour time difference, the Embassy can confidently Speak now to say that if she leaves Tokyo the night after her concert, she should make it to Las Vegas comfortably before the Super Bowl starts,” the message continued, referring to the title of Swift's album. “We know that many people in Japan are excited to experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, so we wanted to confirm that anyone interested can Fearless knowing that this talented performer can wow Japanese audiences and still make it to Las Vegas to support the Chiefs when they take the field for the Super Bowl wearing Red.”
In a sweet viral moment after the Chiefs won the AFC Championship on Jan. 28, Swift and Kelce kissed on the field to celebrate the team's triumph — and in a clip shared by the NFL, the tight end says “I love you ” to the pop star. Swift has been there for much of the Chiefs' outstanding season, becoming a fixture at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium since going public with her relationship with Kelce in September.
