Jamie xx will bring his club, Floor, to New York and Los Angeles this summer, after kicking off the night at London's Venue MOT earlier this year. The DJ will bring surprise guests to residencies in Bushwick and downtown Los Angeles, with venues to be revealed at a later date. Brooklyn dates run from July 23rd to 27th before settling in Los Angeles from July 30th to August 3rd. His new album, In WAVES, will follow on September 20; the dates are preceded by his headline act at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.
Elaborating on the concept, Jamie xx said in a press release, “For years I've dreamed of opening my own club, a place that represents my experiences in London's best underground club scene. the intimacy, the community, the curation, the sound… We debuted this concept in London at Venue MOT for 10 nights in May and I'm excited to announce that we're bringing Floor to Brooklyn and LA for 5 nights in each city this month. See you upstairs.”
Guests at the London dates included Charlil XCX and George Daniel, Romy, Daphni, Jockstrap, Axel Boman and Two Shell.
