Diddy's honorary degree from Howard University has been revoked because of 2016 surveillance video showing Puff hitting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura at a hotel.
Deedy's Howard University honorary degree revoked
On Friday (June 7) the collective newspaper of the school The top of the hill reported that Howard University in Washington had voted to revoke Didi's honorary degree. They also said they returned Puff's $1 million donation to the school. The school's Board of Trustees voted to terminate the 2023 pledge agreement that had never been fulfilled by Puff's Sean Combs Foundation.
“Mr. Combs' conduct, as captured in a recently released video, is so fundamentally inconsistent with the core values and beliefs of Howard University that he is no longer considered worthy of the institution's highest honor,” read a statement issued by the University. The top of the hill.
Didi received an honorary degree from Howard University in 2014.
The video in question was the 2016 hotel surveillance video in which Diddy could be seen punching and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The video appeared online on May 17. Diddy apologized for his actions in the video in a taped apology on May 19.

Diddy sells majority stake in REVOLT
Howard University's decision comes as Didi continues to experience a sweeping and dramatic fallout related to multiple allegations of sexual and physical abuse against him. Earlier in June, Puff sold his majority stake in REVOLT, the media company he founded in 2013, making workers the largest group of shareholders. REVOLT announced that Diddy's shares were “fully bought out and retired.”
The disgraced rap mogul had previously stepped down as the company's chairman last November following multiple lawsuits accusing him of rape, sexual assault and violence. REVOLT CEO Detavio Samuels celebrated employee ownership, championing them as “business owners who help build.” Staff are now the company's largest group of shareholders after Diddy's departure.
