On Friday (November 15), the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight went down live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Streamed live on Netflix, the fight was a spectacle in the making. While there was no knockout, Paul, 27, was victorious after eight rounds against Iron Mike, who was breathing heavily at times during the fight.
All three judges judged the fight in favor of Pavlos. The scores were 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73. After Paul's win, his professional record improved to 11-1 while Tyson fell to 50-7.
Freddie Gibbs, Boosie BadAzz, Meek Mill, Lil Pump, Babyface Ray and more shared their thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter, as the race continued and Paul was eventually crowned the winner.
“Shh at this fight. Still the goat,” Freddie Gibbs posted along with a photo of him sitting next to Tyson.
“They set up Unc…” Meek Mill tweeted.
“RESPECT TO JAKE PAUL F*CK ALL THESE HATERS THIS KID DID HIS SH*T,” Lil Pump added.
“Mike old as hell,” said Babyface Ray.
The much-hyped matchup was first announced by Netflix in March and was slated for July. However, Tyson, 58, suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight and the fight was postponed. The match was later rescheduled for November 15.
On November 7, Netflix premiered its first two episodes Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson, a two-episode documentary chronicling the start of the race narrated by Ice-T.
On Thursday (November 14), Tyson slapped Paul during the bout after Paul stepped on Iron Mike's leg, causing a scene and adding to the anticipation for the fight. Originally planned to be an exhibition, the bout has since been sanctioned as a professional boxing bout.
