Refused have canceled a show in Sweden that was set to be their last festival date so frontman Dennis Lyxzén could recover from what he called “a massive heart attack”. “It was extremely painful and terrifyingly scary,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Uppsala hospital, I'm still around to fight another day. Under the circumstances I feel okay. He was sore and tired and really shaken. I really hate to cancel the show, but the doctor said no rock for a few weeks.”
The show at Stockholm's Rosendal Garden Party would be the band's first in four years, the last to take place behind the group's second reunion LP in 2019 War Music. The Cardigans, MIA and Massive Attack are set to headline the festival this weekend.
In the statement, captioned a photo of Lyxzén in a hospital bed, he added: “Totally bad as I was looking forward to it. But I hope we can get back to you soon. The good news is that with medication I can be back to my swinging self hopefully sooner rather than later. Life is strange and precious. Take care of everyone and tell your loved ones that you love them.”
