Gustavo Lopez launched a new “full-service” media entertainment company, Globalatino Music Partners, Advertising sign can announce. The venture will offer label services, artist management, publishing, distribution and touring, according to a press release.
Globalatino launches with new record label ReLo-Co Music, in partnership with Alejandro Reglero (previously executive vp/GM of Saban Music Latin), GUAU Talent Connect, a division of the company that will specialize in brand partnerships, led by Augusto Mendoza, and Strat-Viz, who will oversee strategic marketing and content creation with Rodolfo Rodriguez head of this department.
Lopez has also partnered with TuStreams and Warner Music Latina for distribution and marketing strategies for select artists. And he acquired a “majority” stake in Cigol Music, the record label of Colombian hitmaker Blessed.
“Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with some of Latin music's most influential artists, enjoying massive success across genres from reggaetón to música mexicana. Everything I learned has now been brought together in Globalatino,” Lopez said in a statement. “More recently, working with entertainment visionary Haim Saban has added to my lifelong commitment to artist development. At Globalatino we are 100% dedicated to serving our artists.”
The announcement comes three months after Virgin Music Group acquired the Saban Music Latin catalog. For five years, Lopez served as the company's CEO since Saban Music Group was launched in 2019 by the entertainment mogul Haim Sabanand later oversaw the creation of Saban Music Latin in 2022.
Prior to joining Saban, Lopez was the longtime GM and EVP of Universal Music Latin, where he founded Latin Urban Label Machete Music, home to artists such as Wisin & Yandel and Don Omar, and also ran regional Mexican companies of Universal Music Latin Entertainment, Fonovisa. and Disa. After leaving Universal in 2017, he founded the indie music label Talento Uno, which was acquired by Saban.
