Gucci Mane's label 1017 Global Music is now down to two artists after the Atlanta rapper and CEO recently announced that he has cleared his roster.
Gucci Mane announces label update
On Friday (October 18), Gucci Mane shared an Instagram post providing an update on the status of his record label. Apparently, the upheavals in the music industry made Guwop decide to take drastic measures, which include the departure of the majority of his artists.
“I'm looking at mine [profit and loss statement]and me as a businessman, I think I should release almost all of my artists, except for Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano,” Gucci says in the video, which you can watch below. “This is a decision he didn't want to make. I thought about it. I could keep it all under the contract. But I said, “Hey, let's make the selfless decision and let them take their talents elsewhere.”
That said, Bic Fizzle, BigWalkDog, Brezden, HotBoy West, Kato2X, Li Rye, Lil Zay, Mac Critter, FTO Sett, and TLE Cinco are now unlabeled houses.
Interestingly, the two rappers Guwop decided to follow are both in prison. In April 2022, Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to over five years in prison after pleading guilty to a firearms conspiracy charge. The following month, Fujiano was sentenced to five years in prison after removing his ankle monitor and fleeing while out on bail for possession of a firearm.
