Wizkid and Brent Faiyaz's “Piece of My Heart” tops this week's new music poll featuring artists across genres.
Music fans voted in a poll published on Friday (October 18). Bulletin boardpicking the pair's chill R&B bop as their favorite new music release of the past week.
“Piece of My Heart” collected almost 85% of the votes in the poll, securing a very significant lead ahead of new releases from Bruno Mars and ROSÉ (“APT.”), Kylie Minogue (Volume II), Morgan Wallen (“Love Somebody”), Gracie Abrams (The Secret of Us (Deluxe)), and others.
Released on October 18, “Piece of My Heart” is the lead single from Wizkid's upcoming sixth studio album, Moragio. The upcoming set is scheduled to arrive on November 22 via Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records.
The slinky love jam doesn't shy away from old R&B delights and allows the Nigerian superstar to showcase his nimble flow. “Nothing can tear us apart/ You've got a piece of my heart/ Nothing can tear us apart (Nothing in this world)/ You've got a piece of my heart (This belongs to you girl),” sings Fayez. the choir.
Wizkid has only appeared on a few collaborations this year, from “MMS” with Asake on his third album, Lungu boyon “Work Me Out” featuring Shensee on her sophomore release, It's never late here. Faiyaz's only collaboration this year was “Should've Wore a Bonnet”, with 21 Savage on his third album, American Dream.
Moragiowhich is a Yoruba word for “I see joy,” will arrive two years after Wiz released his fifth album, More Love, Less Me. The 2022 set reached No. 59 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on the World Albums.
Way behind Wizkid and Faiyaz in this week's poll is 'APT.' of Bruno Mars and ROSÉ, which garnered 13% of the vote. The BLACKPINK star and Silk Sonic creator's fresh collaboration finds the duo mixing energetic songs with luscious pop melodies.
