When Dua Lipa pulls double duty as host and musical guest this weekend Saturday night liveMikey Day warns it will be “double trouble”.
In new promos for Saturday's episode, Day can't contain his excitement for the pop star's twofer. “Double the Dua! Double Lipa! Make love!”
“Are you ok?” Lipa asks SNL cast member “No,” Day admits. “I had two double shots of espresso before that to stay on point. Double the Dua! Double Lipa! Make love! It's going to be a great week!”
In another promo released on Thursday (May 2), Day volunteers to help Lipa with the music portion of her concert thanks to his “freestyle rap” skills from his days on the MTV comedy show hosted by Nick Cannon. Wild 'n Out. “I think I'll be fine,” says Lipa.
“Oh, you're not going to ask me to spit something?” The day asks. “Okay, wow. Dua Lipa is Really he won't ask me to spit something out.”
Saturday will mark Dua Lipa's third time on the show as a musical guest and her first time presenting. On Friday, she will release her third album, Radical Optimismwhich was preceded by the singles 'Houdini', 'Training Season' and 'Illusion'.
After Saturday's episode, Season 49 will conclude with two new episodes: May 11, with former SNL Star Maya Rudolph hosts for the third time and Vampire Weekend as musical guest for the fourth time, and May 18 with Jake Gyllenhaal hosting for the third time and Sabrina Carpenter making her musical guest debut.
