Dame Dash says he will give a Roc-A-Fella chain to the person who offers over $10 million to buy his share of Roc-A-Fella records.
Dame Dash promises the Roc-A-Fella chain to the highest bidder
On Monday (August 19), Dame Dash took to Instagram to talk about his 33.3% stake in Roc-A-Fella Records, which will be auctioned by US Marshalls on August 29 in New York. Part of that 33.3 percent includes Jay-Z's landmark debut album, Reasonable doubtin which Dame's share is still for sale. Jay-Z filed for ownership of the legendary work earlier this month and will receive his rights to the LP in 2031. To incentivize buyers to keep bidding, Dame announced that he would be giving away a chain of Roc-A- Fella to the person who bids over $10 million.
“Well, if you want to buy a third of Roc-A-Fella Inc., you should bring some bread and anything over 10 million, I'll sweeten the pot,” Dame said in the video below. “You're taking a real Roc-A-Fella chain off my neck. Because I was the only one who gave Roc-A-Fella chains when Roc-A-Fella really existed. If I don't give you the chain It ain't a legit Roc- A-Fella Ron, all of that.”
And he continued, “Well, again, if you're going to call, please, you intend to spend real money and complete the transaction, but if you come with the right amount of money, you'll get a chain, or at least you'll have to fight the homeboy for the first right of refusal'.

Reasonable Doubt Ownership to Transfer to Jay-Z
Dame's push to sell his stake comes after Hov's lawyers notified the courts that Reasonable doubt will be owned by Jay-Z in 2031. Full ownership of the project will be transferred to “one Shawn Carter/Jay-Z”.
A few days later, Dame insisted that the album was for sale, so as not to mislead potential buyers into thinking it was no longer available.
“They can say whatever they want, this sh*t is still for sale,” Dame wrote on IG earlier in August. “You are not buying a copyright, you are buying a piece of a company ROC A FELLA INC. Serious questions only!”
The copyright would cover Hov's self-titled debut album, but also every song on the 14-track release. That means the buyer of Dame's stock would own the entire album for seven years before handing it over to Hov. The auction didn't seem to change anything, as the copyright to the work was already set to revert to Jay-Z 35 years after the album dropped. Jay-Z's lawyers just wanted to get the ball rolling.
Dame's upcoming auction is the result of a legal filing by director Josh Webber. He filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Dame in 2019 and won more than $800,000 in a civil judgment against the music executive. Webber had claimed Dame promoted the 2019 film Dear Frank as his own even though he was removed from the production of the play.
