The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games kicked off in the French capital yesterday (August 28) and the opening ceremony featured a performance from Christine and the Queens. Surrounded by dancers, some of whom were in wheelchairs, the Nantes-born artist performed a unique, upbeat rendition of Édith Piaf's “Non, je ne regrette rien.” Later, he sang Patrick Hernandez's 1970s disco hit “Born to Be Alive.” Watch Piaf's performance below and head over to X to see footage of Hernandez's cover.
The opening ceremony, which took place at the Place de la Concorde, also featured performances by Montreal-born pianist and Daft Punk collaborator Chilly Gonzales, artist Ed Banger Myd and French musician Sébastien Tellier.
