Childish Gambino is postponing the remaining North American dates of his New World Tour. “Hello everyone. Unfortunately, I have to postpone the rest of the North American tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” the rapper wrote on X today. “Hold your tickets. ALL tickets will be honored for upcoming North American dates when rescheduled. thanks for the privacy. thanks for the support. thanks for the love.”
Childish Gambino kicked off his tour in Oklahoma City on August 11th. About two weeks into the tour, he had to cancel a show in Connecticut “due to production issues” and had to cancel a show in Houston last night “due to illness.” Including the postponed Texas concert, 16 shows are affected by the musician's apparent health problems.
Donald Glover announced New World Tour in May, ahead of the release of Childish Gambino's 'final' album, Bando Stone and the New World. He was supported on the North American leg of the tour by Willow.
Glover had planned to begin his European shows, supported by Amaarae, on October 31. Pitchfork has reached out to the artist's representatives for information about the upcoming shows.
